Guiding principles
Hotard & Associates was founded on, and remains true today, to five simple but very important guiding principles...
- Focus - You can't be all things to all people. Hotard & Associates understands that it brings value to its clients by focusing on selected industries and disciplines. The firm consults with clients and will not accept assignments when more appropriate options are available to the client.
- Bigger is not better - The size of the firm has little to do with the quality of a search. Instead, the quality and professionalism of a search is directly related to the consultant actually doing the work. Therefore, at Hotard & Associates, Joseph Hotard remains personally accountable for the success of every search assignment. Hotard & Associates is small by design and will remain so.
- Depth of expertise - To provide the quality search a client deserves, a search consultant must understand the client's business needs, culture and organizational design. Mr. Hotard's corporate experience within two Fortune 500 companies, coupled with his understanding of the search/selection process, gives him a unique perspective into the complexities of large organizations.
- Performance/Ethics - Every search is important to the client. Hotard & Associates understands that basic fact. The firm approaches every engagement committed to both the highest ethical standards and a belief that the client deserves a completed search.
- Client focus - A client deserves to know how a search is progressing. A fairly simple thought, yet in practice not always the case. Hotard & Associates always keeps its clients informed of the progress of a search as well as potential obstacles to its completion.
